Pictures from Summer 2016:
My name is Katey Crowley and I am a Reading Specialist and the ESL teacher at Bridge Point Elementary. This is my twelfth year in education and my tenth year at BPE. Before becoming a Reading Specialist, I taught second grade in San Marcos for two years and third grade at Bridge Point for nine years. I am currently in the process of my Wilson practicum, which certifies me to become a Dyslexia Specialist at the end of the school year. I am so excited to be a member of the RtI team and am looking forward to another great year in a new position!
My husband, Nathan, and I have been married since June 2010 and have a two-year-old daughter, Charlotte. We enjoy spending time with our family and friends, traveling, and watching movies together. We also have a six year old lab named Beau. Between our toddler and our toddler-like dog, we are busy in the best kind of way!
I was born and raised in Austin, and went to Texas State University for both my undergrad (2005) and Master's (2010) degrees. Go Bobcats! While there, a professor summarized a well-known concept: "If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime." My goal is to teach my students to "fish," so they will be successful and life-long learners.
